Mormon News: Mormons on TV, we're becoming popular...

So I've been on this business trip for about 10 days and have pretty much been confined to my hotel room or the restaurant because of my lack of having a car with me, so I get to watch a lot of TV. One night I saw 2 commercials, by 2 major well known companies, both starring well known Mormons. So what's the deal here? Why are Mormons becoming increasingly more popular on TV? Is it our squeaky clean image? Is it because we're beautiful? What's up? Is it the nation's fascination with the "peculiar people"?

The first commercial I saw was this one starring Julianne Hough, the incredibly beautiful Dancing with the Stars champion, it's a proactive lotion commercial a company made famous by using another hot blond, Jessica Simpson.




The next is Marie Osmond from the famous Mormon family, The Osmonds. She is seen here doing a Nutrisystem commercial and has apparently lost 40 pounds using the system. I'm sure the personal trainer had nothing to do with it either (rolls eyes). Anyway, she looks good for her age.

    Hmmm.....I used to think we needed Lds people on our screens to show something credible back....but in view of what i've been seeing via youtube lately I think we should rethink it!! Just shows that even Lds people fall into the materialistic thinking to earn some dosh. I mean, is there REALLY a skin age defying cream in existence or could it possibly...shock, gasp, horror. be more to do with healthy eating, drinking, regular work out, decent sleep time etc and the fact that the Lord has specified these things over and over again and proven right each and every time?
    Never mind me, i'm just an over the top, eagerly inspired MORMON chick that puts credit where credit is due.....

    WITH GOD!!

    Wow what is it with your blog that gets me on that soap box??!!! :P LOL

    Ok.......dig/tease away if you need to....i'm tough, i'm a mormon so i can take it!!! :) LOL

    I guess my blog pushes your buttons I'm sorry... My blog is really a place for me to rant or publish things that interest me, so that may be why you're on the soap box.

    I do think we need more LDS people on tv, and here in America they are invading TV, especially Reality TV. I've got several posts about who is famous and LDS around here somewhere...

    Pretty awesome how members and the LDS church are starting to own who they are and not be afraid to do so in public.

    my friends dad just did a temple session with marie osmond on tuesday of last week. WEIRD. ahaha
